hhh... so the sun is still in the sky!
After spending a year in post, we finished our (6) film educational series. Just last week I finished the last one and boy it feels good to see the light of day once more.
I wanted to say thank you to the crew at Driftwood Media for making the two year project a great experience. I'm happy to see that everyone is excited to see the results of our efforts. We have our first showing this coming Thursday and next week we are going to another city and showing again.
So here we are in May and we are now beginning a new project. Our (8) short educational film series called "Island Gems" will begin in June. Richard Boyce of Island Bound Media has already turned his cameras toward our greatist island offerings.
A quick comment regarding posting videos on the "public video sites" ie...Metacafe, Crackle...etc. It has been my experience that all of these video sites seem to be leaning towards to the low road. I see more dog trick, girl dancing in bedroom and teenage bicycle stunt videos it makes me wonder if people are even interested in our work... I sometimes wonder.
So here is my first entry. Looking forward to droppin' in and making a few notes no and again. thanks for taking the time to drop in.
Bye for now,
Framejunkee

I sometimes wonder if I can even get time to write this blog. Well heres a few lines anyways. We moved into our new studio, we tripled our floor space and it feels good. The summer had us wrapping up a few projects from last year, and now we are looking to create some new materials this coming spring. The winter months will be full of teaching some video classes here in the studio and we hope to have a few new folks joining in on the fun (opps I mean work).
Gerda is coming along with her editing, I think I will start to add some new dimention into the mix for her second year. Our Break Through Healing Arts series has been shot and edit begins in a few weeks. I'm happy to see we finished on time and on budget.
One last thing, I have been working away at grant proposals most of the year and we have been short listed for a few grants, we shall know by December. With all the cuts in the arts programs here in Canada this year we are scrambling to get fewer and fewer dollars...what a shame.
I'll keep ya posted.
