So here's my showreel :)
Posted On 03/31/2007 06:43:11 by d4corp

Here we are, I finally did my showreel for 2006.

It consists on only one medium-sized film I shot in the south of France.

Please check the Video, and tell me what you think !!

I shot it using a Panasonic HVX200, using the P2 cards in 720p. I used in pretty much all the scenes in this demo a Cinepar 12kW, 3 maxi-brutes and some lucioles. I color corrected only one scene by slightly desaturing it, otherwise everything's raw ;)

First of all, thank you for your constructive comment !

I agree with you about the handheld stuff, because of how the production went, I chose to focus more on the lighting and might have missed some things on the camera operating side.

I'm considering about getting a domain name, but it looks like to much hassle for the little work I did, might be interesting in a few months/years.

About the HVX200, the producer already bought the camera before, so I didn't chose it. We used the p2 cards with 720p, so we had only 8 minutes of rushes available, and we had to derush it on an external firewire hard drive, each time creating a new partition.
So it wasn't ideal (we used 4 hard drives for the whole shooting - 2 months), but the quality was there. To sum up, I would love to try with the panasonic hard drive that allows recording directly to it, bypassing the p2 cards.

I'm glad you liked my work, thanks !

Very nice work! Not crazy about some of the handheld stuff, but the reel looks good. I don't know if I'd use myspace as your professional website. Consider getting yourself a domain name (they're cheap!) and a good website.

Other than that, I like it. I'd love to shoot something like that. How do you like working with the HVX?
