"The Shorties" Project of Building a Network for Short Films

Hello my fellow filmmakers and students, this blog is for all who's interested about short films, both viewers and makers.
In this blog I'll tell about a project that me and my friend are trying to launch, called simply "Shorties". I'll update news here as the project grows. Comments and ideas are allowed.
"Shorties" project is a bit similar to the "Netflix" but concentrates to good quality short films, indie shorts and film school short films.
In "Shorties" we're trying to get more people to enjoy short film, those who can't go to every film festival around the world. And also we want that people can support directly filmmakers by donating the groups, or individual projects.
The thing that drived me to want this kind of service is that I'd like to see short films even when I'm not able to go to film festivals or so on, and encourage people to make more quality short films. And more so that they can be found under one roof, unlike now short films are rather scattered here and there and you must already know a short film title to try to find it on youtube, vimeo or such. I really wanted that short films will be easily to find and enjoy, and also make possible to contact the filmmakers and support their good work.
The Crew behind this is my friend Sebastian de Mel http://www.facebook.com/WallRushGO?fref=ts , who's focusing on the technical features. And I'm responsible of content and the community we want to get to the website.
Our plans are to gather info how many people would like to use the service, both viewers and filmmakers, so that we can do basic business calculations, I know I don't like the business part so much, because I'd like to focus on the quality films and good community than the money, but for the launching we need some numbers that proves that we can run this service without complete bankrupt
We're planning to utilise the Kickstarter http://www.kickstarter.com/ for funding and also if Finnish funding organizations such as AVEK http://www.kopiosto.fi/avek/en_GB/
Other organizations I'd like to get helping this project are short film festivals, filmschools and indie groups.
Then we need to see who would be interested to join the crew, and those who want support our project.
After we get more people behind the project, then would be the first try-out or "alpha"-testing of the service where we need both viewers and few good quality short films to upload. But that phase will be later, now we're focusing to find if there's people that are interested to take a part for this project.
