You'd think that as someone with a profile on a networking site specific to filmmaking, that I'd have a good list...truth is, I don't. I have films that I like, Kingdom of Heaven, Clockwork Orange, and many others, but I never have been very effective at listing them. I think it is unfair to the films I like, that I simply didn't put on the list because I didn't think of them at the moment.

Effective, artistic lighting and camera movement. Don't use a jib because the producer will pay for it, use a jib because that is what the story calls for.
Don't light a scene simply for illumination: if you've bothered to pull out the lighting a grip equipment, make it an element of the story.

I think I've covered it below. I get annoyed with people who do something simply just 'cuz. Make it part of the story. The camera isn't simply a device to capture an image, employ it as a character. Not Blair Witch, but place your audience in the scene.
