  • Cinema City Festival, that is to be held from 18th to 25th June 2011. in Novi Sad, has opened opening call for entries in „Up to 10 000 bucks“ selection on Friday, March 11. This is a competition selection, and it will present films made with a budget of less than 10,000 dollars, with authors who were bold and creative enough to present their ideas through them with limited funds. This call will be open until April 10, and all artists who want to apply can do so by completing the form at the festival’s web page, www.cinemacity.org/do10000/. The film that wins will gain money prize of 2,000 dollars.



    „Up to 10 000 bucks“ selection is one of the most attractive festival’s selections which, alongside numerous audience, each year discovers new talents and provides them with an opportunity of getting ahead in the film industry. Authors from the chosen films from all over the world will be guests of the festival, and will have the opportunity to meet each other and further educate thoemselves in the field through numerous workshops and master classes of prominent filmmakers. The program selector is Srdjan Koljevic, the director of The Women with the Broken Nose, which won Grand Prix for the best domestic film at last year’s Cinema City Festival. Films applying need to be no older than 2009, and can be of all genres – short films, documentaries, feature films, all are welcome.



    Cinema City will take place from 18th to 25th of June 2011 in Novi Sad. During eight festival days Novi Sad will again become town-festival, with abundant film, misic and academic programs. Cinema City Festival will be marked by numerous novelties as well as domestic and foreign film premieres and prominent guests from all over the world.

    Cinema City shows over 150 films within 14 selections, more than 100 premieres in four open and three closed cinemas, and gives 20 awards for domestic, international and low-budget film.

    Extraordinary dedication, positive atmosphere of the festival, and a quality film program are what marked previous Cinema City Film and Media Festival. During the eight days, more than 80,000 guests visited the film theatres. The most attractive locations – Catholic Church Courtyard and the Danube Park will this year as well present the current world cinematography, by projections of great technical quality.



    Cinema City has over 500 accredited guests, among which are filmmakers, directors, actors, festival and film industry representatives from the world over, journalists, artists. Alongside prestigious names from the world of film, within “Up to 10 000 bucks” selection the festival hosts over 100 young authors, who present the future of domestic and world cinematography.
