So what is involved in creating an article
The site www.WDI-Fusion.co.uk is designed to engage and entertain the viewer. I imagine the individual sat at their desk grabbing a sandwich or a coffee break wanting some entertainment, something that will provoke their thoughts. They might be thinking of a weekend break away in Rome, Paris or London and wanting to find out more typing into Google and coming to us. Once they have found our site and like what you have produced they will want to come back for some more and building up the traffic and consequent revenue to you.
To help build this relationship with the visitor we will be emailing them on a regular basis to let them know what new articles have been produced and by whom.
Consequently since our audience interests are so wide I do not specify specific articles but, I do suggest that you think in terms of series of articles to develop a theme or a subject thus building the audience. Allowing the visitor to get to know you and what your are about means that if they like what you have produced they will come back. Perhaps they may even recommend you to a friend or two.
Obviously on the engagement front it is good to include visual content where possible. So a pictures or video can help as with keeping the language relatively simple and sentences short. Various studies over time have shown how much more difficult people find it to read on a computer screen.
The only thing that we are insistent upon is that the work that you submit is your own or that where this is not the case the owner grants you the permission to use the work. The other ting is we will not carry offensive material. So pornography is out and anything inciting religious or ethnic hatred. Pretty obvious stuff, I know, but it has to be said.
With regard to length they can be as long or as short as you like. We have plans to carry e books sponsored by advertising. As you will see our servers are used to video content so text of any length and pictures is no problem. However, we say to video producers that the videos should be short ideally under 5 minutes but certainly under 10. This is because, at the moment, we feel that people are looking for a short “lean forward” experience at their desks rather than a “lean back” in front of their televisions. With regard to longer material it can be repackage it shorter clips or in the case of text it can be broken down over several pages or put it into an E-book.
I hope that helps and look forward to hearing from you and perhaps receiving your fist article.
Articles should be either sent by Email to myself simon@cread.co.uk or if the files are too large by post to Simon Sanders, CreAD Media Ltd, The Studio Southfield House, Cranley Road, Eye, Suffolk IP23 7HY (Just remember to keep a copy).
