2000 - 2006 Prairie Pines Christmas Tree Farm
Work ranged from general farm work during the summer, including handling of heavy machinery (tractors, Bobcats, etc.) to customer service and stage production during the Chamber Music at the Barn concert series in the summer; customer service cutting and selling Christmas Trees during the winter.
2000 - 2006 Law Firm of Conlee, Schmidt & Emerson
Work done ranges from customer service with clients, runner and lay-analyst for criminal cases, working as a runner, secretarial positions, as well as an odd-job man and heavy lifter.
Nov 2006 Assistant Director, Voter Protection Program
As Assistant Director, I was responsible for relaying communications between our protection agents, the main office, and public relations the week leading up to, and on the day of the mid-term elections. I was also responsible for the actual strategy and implementation of that strategy on the day of the election.
Aug 2003 – Oct 2006 Tallgrass Film Festival
In 2006, worked as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Tallgrass Film Festival. As Volunteer Coordinator, I was responsible for running a team of 60-70 individuals in maintaining a healthy and entertaining mid-sized film festival (3 days, 50 films, 20 film makers, 6,000 attendees). I was also responsible for acting as an Interim Producer when our Producers were unavailable, as well as film maker liason. Before this time, I worked as a general assistant to the executive director of the film festival, including work as a runner, driver, logistics, programming, and all other general functions of running a world-class film festival.
Jan 2006 - Oct 2006 Erin is Hope Foundation
Erin is Hope is a non-profit clinic for children with speech and learning disorders, ranging from Autism and Aspergers, to mental retardation and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I worked as a one-on-one para-professional in the four to six-year-old class at the school provided by the clinic for full-time treatment, as well as the lead instructor in computer studies. Special skills attained during this period were teaching the Association Method for teaching reading, writing, and speech.
