This is the first piece of a new series entitled “Of sight and Sound” (which may very well become my new channel name) the series will focus on light balancing techniques, frame composition and “cooperative tone tapestry”. Each work within this series will each be presented with suggestive sound design and visual metaphor. General: My video art is experimental in nature, largely abstract and often a result of creative “what if” or “why not” modes of thinking. I am interested in the craft of film making as much as I am in the content to be expressed-be it social narrative, or surreal poetic metaphor- so I am always discovering new methods to experiment with to tell my story. Also a poet and composer, I love the marriage of different artistic vehicles of expression for the production of a new whole; my work features composed music or sound design with snippets of prose to compliment the overall structure. While my visual style may range from one extreme to the next, i.e geometric digital art vs. film footage, the relative tone of my work is fairly consistent in that I attempt to obscure realism with the avante-garde, the obvious with the hypothetical. Also, I have found much artistic and creative growth from collaborating with other artists in the capacity of creative director and producer…I invite you to view the variety of series I have on my Playlists featuring them.
