As we enter the second semester of our study “of chords and their connection,” we recall the two-fold value of 1) assimilating theoretical principles, and 2) practical application of these in the real world. What are Seventh Chords, and how do they relate to the Major and Minor Scales we’ve studied? We will learn about a very important 7th chord in today’s presentation, so watch for it! Semester Two presents inversions of 7th chords as well, and how to integrate and connect all these four-note chords with the triads studied so far. Furthermore, it expands on the topic of cadences, and introduces altered chords.
