High quality prosumer and even some professional video cameras are very inexpensive to rent. A good camera shoots in the proper formats (landscape, framed for cinema or HD), offers much better visual control, usually offers direct-to-cameras audio inputs, and your final video is compatible with industry accepted editing software. Saving a few bucks on camera rental is miniscule compared to your overall costs of production and post-production. less
