Screenwriting Tips from a Produced Writer

  • When writing a screenplay make sure you have a story. A story is not a series of events that happen to someone. It is not a "Day in the LIfe." A story requires a protagonist and and antagonist.

The protagonist must want to accomplish a goal that the audience deems important enough to watch. The antagonist wants to prevent that from happening.

You construct your story by increasing the level of conflict until it reaches he inevitable, but not necessarily predictable, climax.
