I think the best way to develop characters is first to give them a fatal flaw, something they have to overcome within themselves to achieve their overall goal. The true reality is nobody goes from point A to point B easily, so the protagonist has to face many challenges that test their fatal flaw. Of course, most of the time, the protagonist will fail, but by the end of Act 2, they realize what they must do to achieve their goal.

What do you do when that happens? In my case, this is what helps me each time.Step away from the desk, go for a short walk, or indulge in a different activity to give your mind a breather.Set aside dedicated time for brainstorming. Grab a notebook and note down any fleeting thoughts, even if they seem unrelated to your script. Later, you can revisit these ideas and find hidden gems that might spark your creativity. If the inspiration still eludes you, consider discussing your challenges with friends, colleagues, or fellow artists. Their fresh perspectives and insights might offer a unique angle or solution you hadn't considered. The creative process is dynamic, and sometimes, it takes a collaborative effort to reignite the spark, so remember to be kind to yourself. What are your go-to methods when inspiration seems elusive?Share your tips below! less
