I really need some film school advice!

OK, I'll try and make this as short as possible. As most of you know I live in Cancun, MX. and I am getting ready to make the next big step in my life, College. I truly need your guys opinion, I need advice from people who have gone to Fullsail University or New York film academy, or any type of advice would help really. I have heard so many stories about Fullsail ( not good ones) from friends of friends. Each story is different and it all just confuses me. Such as, Its a scam, waste of time, attendance is strict, takes over your life. I have never talked to anyone about NYFA but I know it is just short term courses and a lot less money. Though, I know in Fullsail the course is more in depth and I would make numerous contacts. I'm just worried because Fullsail is extremely expensive, we are talking over 80k. My family is fairly well off, but still I don't want to waste it! So Please give me your advice and/or thoughts, anything will help. Thank you!
