A celebration of Wild and Scenic Rivers

    Contest Prizes

GoPro® !!! The Hero3 Black Edition camera will now be awarded to a top winner, in addition to the prize of $100 plus  $100 donated to the winner's favorite river charity. Who can't use a river camera?

Submit photos or video taken at one of our nation's rivers that have earned a place in the Wild and Scenic Rivers system between now and July 12th, and you may be eligible to win a bit of green for yourself and  a donation to your favorite river charity.

The River Management Society and our colleagues at the National Park Service, are looking for striking digital images and video that capture the unique qualities of national Wild, Scenic or Recreational rivers or their "outstandingly remarkable" natural or cultural values. While rural rivers may come to mind, several Wild and Scenic Rivers are located near cities, too!  Visit the River Management Society's Facebook page for contest information, and locate your nearest Wild and Scenic Rivers by visiting www.rivers.gov.

Capture grand panoramas or up-close images of people, wildlife and vegetation alongside, on or in a river.  Submit images that showcase your river experiences, whether relaxing on the bank, swimming, paddling, fishing or hiking.  Images or video can be serious, or seriously funny: all they need to do is illustrate how special these rivers for our national legacy, protected for our children's children.

Please read the following rules, terms and conditions as you prepare your submission.

Tips to help you prepare your submission:

If you include other people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary releases from the individuals depicted, and must provide copies of those releases to the River Management Society upon request. Entrants must not submit images that involve infringe on the rights of another photographer or person. Any easily recognizable person in a submitted photo or video must give the photographer or videographer approval for use of any / all of the content submitted.

See 'Legal Conditions' below, and you may use the attached form to provide upon request from the contest judges. Your submission should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Images that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast,        etc.) will be disqualified. Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single "High Dynamic Range" image are acceptable. Images that do not meet these requirements may or may not be judged at the judging panel's sole discretion.

Please clearly label all submissions to assist judges in determining eligibility.

All submissions will be credited with the label "Photo/Video by [Person's Name]." RMS has final approval of any language that appears on its website with any of the photos and will not promote or endorse third-party products or services.
