an yesterday that will alwas counts for me...

  • She was waiting under a mango tree in the garden. Sweet Memories and the heady scent of her perfume was driving me crazy…I was just like hovering towards her…Being weightless- like in an comatose mind, I was pulling towards her by an unknown force…My mind was saying “go…man go and snatch her in your arms…clasp her from behind, tell her that you love her…go man”
There was the thinnest of new moons in the sky, like a silver nail-paring, and it gave no light under the mango tree. Thousands of fireflies were about though, glowing for instance everywhere, over the grass in a carnival of sparks, up in the black crystal branches of the trees confused with the North Star above my house…
A few fireflies glimmered around us. I stepped a pace away and caught one of them in the palm of my hand; I liked to see its cold green light shine there. I made a fist of my hand to keep it safe, then showed it to my BEE…She looked at it; she touched my cheek with her fingers. I looked at her surprised, and frightened with shyness. I had never touched her before…
Her eyes were longing for a kiss…I had sensed this was going to happen even when I saw her for the first time in my school days….She was leaning against the tree, her eyes turned to the ground. Her silver ear rings were like bright marks at each ear.
I was standing in a position some what taller than where she was staying. I bend myself down; I did not know what to do with my hands. I shut my eyes and leaned to kiss her stiffly. As I did she put her arms around my sides and clasped her hands at my back. When I put my tightly pursed mouth on hers it gently gave so that I felt the sharp teeth, and with her tongue she softly rubbed my lips for an instant. Then she took her face away so quickly, touched my mouth with her forefinger and ran away in the dark. A firefly had caught in her neatly cut hair (though I don’t like it) and I saw its light twice before she was quite gone.
Dazed, for a while I stood still against the mango tree. Then astonished with excitement, I grasped one of its lower branches and swung myself joyfully up. There I climbed for five minutes and more, daring the very tip in the dark to look at the thin silver moon…I searched for a long peace of oxygen other than her pungent fragrance…she was everywhere there after…though its quiet hard to say…for all this I have to close my eyes….
