    Filmed by Bike is a film festival showcasing independent bike-themed movies from around the world. Entries are limited to eight minutes in length. Selected movies will be showcased at the 9th Annual Filmed by Bike, April 15-17, 2011 in Portland, Oregon - a city well known as a bike friendly metropolis.

    ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
    Since 2003, Filmed by Bike has brought a wildly creative array of bike-themed movies to the silver screen. The festival takes place every April in Portland, Oregon, USA, but entries come from around the world. The next festival is April 15-17, 2011 at the Clinton Street Theater. The festival features nine screenings and an opening night street party in fro nt of the theater.


    ABOUT THE MOVIES
    Filmmakers and bike enthusiasts celebrate the artistic side of cycling culture with love stories, comedies, animated shorts and documentaries tightly edited into eight minutes or less. The programs present an exhibition of creative films that celebrate bike culture world wide. A jury of seven people selects the final movies.

    PRIZES
    The Golden Helmet Award, presented by Nutcase Helmets, is a $250 cash prize for the overall best film. The GoIndependent! Award, presented by the Bike Gallery, is a $250 cash prize for the film that makes the best use of independent music.
