I am currently looking for both cast and crew to help me film my Digital Cinematography II final assignment. This is a student project and a 2-minute trailer for a Drama I wrote a few years ago entitled: OFF THE BEATEN PATH. I can offer reels, credit and meals. The tentative shoot dates are at the end of January; 3 half days (3-5 hours) and one eight hour day in total there are two locations (Mostlty Interiors and one Evening Exterior). I am looking for my main character, a few secondary roles and a handful of background players. I also really need someone with firearms experience and a handgun; as the Exterior scene is a Carjacking scene. I have already started the permit process with the state so I definitely need someone with certification. Also if any of you know any police officers/Civil Servants who could oversee the Carjacking scene. There is a small budget for those civil servants who are willing to work on this (and are available), as the state requires this in order for my permitting to go through. I am also looking for an insurance agency that offers good deals on Production Liabilty Insurance; so if anyone can refer me I'd be grateful. For crew: I pretty much need an entire crew: - Cinematographer, or two - Sound - Either a Director and 1st AD; or 1st AD, 2nd AD - A couple of PA's - Anywhere somebody would like to gain experience and credits I have no definitive role personally; at least with the pre-requisites of my assignment. I am capable of directing it, or being the Cinematographer/DP but again I'm not required to play any role besides producing it; I'm going to see what roles I can get others to commit to before deciding my role. Here is a quick list of my assets: - Basic 3-point (Mh) lighting system (2 x 500w Softboxes and background lighting with some gels). - A Sony FS100 (2K) Super 35mm Cinema camera with a f3.5-6.3, variable zoom lens 18-200mm and 2 (Audio) XLR Inputs with Manfrotto 501HDV Fluid Head on Manfrotto sticks. I will train anyone who wishes to learn this camera; it's a great camera. - Shure PGX1 Single Channel Lavalier and lapel microphone, Sennheiser Evo external microphone and mini-stand. - Stingers, Surge protectors, etc. - WL Toys Camera Drone w/1080p wide lens camera and FPV viewer. Unfortunately I have been on a students budget, so I have minimal equipment currently and would be grateful for anything you can bring to the table as far as equipment goes. For the post-work; if anybody is interested in editing/co-editing that would be great. Otherwise I will do all of the editing. For post-equipment I have the late 2014 MacBook Pro with Retina Display, 16 gigs RAM, Final Cut X, Motion, Compressor, Adobe CS5.5, CS6 and Adobe CC 2014. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I am excited to possibly get the chance to work with some of you and build some good raport. I put into practice the things I believe most vital to a successful production. Good Communication, Professionalism, Courtesy, commitment and just plain old fashioned fun. This is why I love film so much; tons of creative and technical personalities come together and despite their differences (in fact embracing the differences) they move ahead together and create pieces that move and speak to us - It's a Beautiful thing... Get in contact with me for a PDF of the script and storyboards. Thanks again. Happy New Year less
