Learn the Art of Horror Storyboarding with Veteran Artist Anthony Sturmas

How do you build suspense before a scene is even filmed? It starts with the storyboard.

Join us on Friday, October 30, for a live, 75-minute masterclass with experienced storyboard artist Anthony Sturmas. Learn how storyboards help directors plan camera angles, control pacing, and create tension that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.

What You’ll Learn

In this interactive session, Anthony will demonstrate how to plan a suspense sequence, from the first sketch to the final reveal.

You’ll learn how to:

• Choose the Right Camera Angles: Use camera positions, high and low angles, and tilted shots to create tension and make characters feel vulnerable.

• Build Suspense: Plan each storyboard panel to control what the audience sees and when a frightening moment is revealed.

• Create Visual Tension: Use character movement, framing, and empty space to guide the viewer’s attention and support the director’s vision.

• Apply Storyboarding Principles to AI Tools: Use composition, aspect ratios, lighting, and camera logic to create more consistent AI-generated concept art and pre-visualizations.

Meet Your Instructor: Anthony Sturmas
